Wedding of Josh & Brianna – “Every Rose (bush) Has It’s Thorns”

Recently I was told by a client from Belgium that the custom of having a wedding veil is not practiced in many parts of the world, including of course, Belgium.  I'm personally a 'veil kind of guy' and when I see a wedding veil, I like to see a VEIL (all in capital letters).  Brianna was wearing a VEIL and I'm tempted to add an exclamation mark to the end of that.

Josh and Brianna were wed in beautiful Angel Park in Las Vegas and it's a testament to the wonderful people that we work with that, having only met Brianna 30 minutes before her ceremony, we instantly hit it off and felt entirely comfortable with the both of them, so much so that by the end of the evening, it was difficult to leave!

This was an emotional ceremony that I got myself completely caught up in, watching these two beautiful people exchange their vows.  That's the magic of wedding photography – we have the absolute best seats in the house!  It's the difference between an old CRT and a large screen HDTV.

But as the song goes, 'Every rose has its thorns' and while walking down the aisle, well….let's just say that everyone has Brett Michaels in their heads.  The rose bush really got hold of that veil and just refused to let go!  Thankfully, the wonderful staff at Angel Park came to the rescue and the look in Brianna's eyes as she passed by told me "that's going to make a HILARIOUS photo!"

Forgive my waxing poetic, but it's like a metaphor for life and especially marriage.  We all hit a snag every now and then, but if we can walk away smiling, everything is going to be alright.

While we only had around five or so minutes post ceremony and formals for portraits and I spent it being mesmerized by Brianna's beautifully long veil, much in the same way as a snake charmer.  Ideas rolled through my head in such abundance that I wished I could slow down time so I could take it all in.

At any rate though, Josh and Brianna are two of the nicest people I have ever met (which is really saying a lot because I think everyone is nice :) ) and I've made them promise to come visit us for more bridal shots on their next trip to Las Vegas!
