Paul & Liz – sixpence the richer

Paul and Liz are such a soft spoken and sweet couple, so free of guile that for a moment it felt as though I was back in Wisconsin!  I loved everything about these two – the gentle way that they interacted with each other and the way they openly shared their emotion with each other.  I also LOVED their 'tree' inspired theme, filled with vibrant greens and rich, earthy tones.  Even their chapel was enveloped in lush green trees that really made it feel like home to me!

A very neat idea that we saw at the reception was, instead of a guestbook, Paul and Liz had a beautifully drawn tree with a green ink stamper, in which all guests would first press their digit into the ink and then create a green 'leaf' with their fingerprints – how cool is that?!

Something else I learned – Everyone know the old saying "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue", but did you know that it doesn't stop there?  The final line is "And a Silver Sixpence in your Shoe".  I inquired about the sixpence I saw in Liz's left shoe and even after all these years, I had never heard the final line!  So not only did we have the chance to work with an amazing couple, I also learned something.  Knowledge is a great thing!
